Andrew Forbes (he/him) is a PhD Student in the Department of Geography, Environment, and Geomatics at the University of Ottawa. He completed his MA in Interdisciplinary Health at Laurentian University and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University. His involvement in social justice- and health equity-related initiatives while at McMaster, cultivated an interest in supporting children’s wellness and Reconciliation between non-Indigenous and Indigenous Peoples. His MA research focused on understanding how health researchers have operationalized an Indigenous concept ‘Two-Eyed Seeing’ (formally introduced by Mi’kmaq Elder Albert Marshall), that promotes respecting and valuing multiple ways of knowing to find enhanced solutions, to identified challenges, that benefit all.
